PHOENIX -

One person was shot during a drug deal Tuesday afternoon at 43rd Ave and Grovers.

According to Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Martos, two men who wanted to purchase a quantity of marijuana met with a third person.

Instead of making the purchase, the 18-year-old and 19-year-old men decided to rob the individual. They then fled into the neighborhood with the stolen marijuana.

The person who was robbed chased the men and shot at them. The 19-year-old sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg. The 18-year-old was not hit.

The shooter then fled the scene in a lowered silver truck. He's described as a Hispanic male in his 20s.
