Give your kids a lesson in etiquette

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Does your child know the difference between their dinner fork and their salad fork?  Chances are the answer is no—and you might not know either!  But new classes offered right here in metro Atlanta could give you both a valuable etiquette lesson.

If there are times when it feels like your kids were raised in a barn, it may be time to get back to basics.  The folks at Bloomingdales are sponsoring a new etiquette class to help you do just that.  They've partnered with Etiquette Atlanta and local etiquette coach Patty Hunnewell to offer the class, which is just for kids.

Over the course of four sessions, kids will be schooled in the fine art of poise, table etiquette and conversation dos and don'ts.  Hunnewell says the kids even have homework, and at the end of the course, parents see a dramatic difference in their children's confidence.

The course culminates with a formal, catered dinner where the students put their skills to the test.  For more details on the classes—which begin this weekend--- click here for a link to Etiquette Atlanta's website!

Does your summer road trip include mouth-watering stops at mom-and-pop eateries?  Ours does, and it'll be even better with the help of a new Southern Living book!
