Chihuahua puppy stolen from Shakopee pet store

SHAKOPEE, Minn. (KMSP) -

Surveillance video captured a man stealing a nine-week-old Chihuahua puppy Monday morning at Petland in Shakopee, Minn.

Police have been notified and a lost pet alert has been issued for the puppy, which has a microchip (No. 941000014850666).

Petland Shakopee owner Heather Latko said the man entered the store around 11 a.m. Monday and asked to see the Chihuahua puppy. The man was left to play with the puppy in a room before he was seen running out of the store with the dog.

Latko said the man got into a dark blue Volkswagen Passat with license plate 768 BDA. Police were immediately notified and a lost pet alert has been issued, which can be viewed online at helpmefindmypet.com/public/lostpetposter.aspx?lpid=12279
