Hill-Murray High School varsity football coach Mark Mauer was one of 19 men charged this week in connection with an undercover prostitution sting at a Fridley, Minn. hotel.

Hill-Murray High School varsity football coach Mark Mauer has resigned following his arrest for soliciting a prostitute in Fridley, Minn. last week.
Mauer, 54, was one of 19 men charged in connection with an undercover prostitution sting at the LivInn Hotel on Central Avenue.
Mauer allegedly answered an ad offering sex that was posted on Backpage.com and other websites. According to Fridley police, he offered an undercover officer $100 for "full service" during the hotel sting. During processing, officers recovered $100 cash and some Viagra pills from Mauer.
2012 was Mauer's first season as Hill-Murray football coach. He led the Pioneers to a quarterfinal appearance in the Class 4A state tournament.
