Bankrate's monthly survey released Monday said that 24 percent of Americans have more credit card debt than savings.
The survey gauges how secure Americans feel about their personal finances compared to 12 months prior.
In addition, the survey indicated that 23 percent felt less secure today about individual job security than one year ago, while 59 percent experienced no change.
Nineteen percent of college graduates are more comfortable with their savings today, however, the same percentage of grads are less comfortable in their debt situation. Thirty-three percent of college grads say they're ultimately better off today compared to the 19 percent without a college degree who share that sentiment.
Overall, 49 percent of individuals feel their overall financial situation is about the same.
