Lawmakers have until Friday to reach a deal that would avoid billions of dollars in automatic budget cuts to federal programs.
If the two sides can't reach a deal by March 1, $85 billion in cuts will go into effect to government programs, such as the defense, education and transportation departments.
But just how much of the sequester will impact you?
Financial expert Elliott Miller visited FOX 29 News at 5 p.m. to discuss just who would feel the pain if a deal can't be reached.
You can watch his interview with FOX 29's Joyce Evans in the video above.
Not the prettiest Friday, but we're ready for a great weekend. Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. After an early high in the upper sixties, temperatures fall & winds pick up out of the chillier northwest. Right now the Memorial Day Weekend looks sunny and cool with highs in the low to mid 60s on Saturday, in the 70s Sunday & Monday. Cooler temps at the shore.
