1 dead, 1 injured after being struck by cars on UES

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Two pedestrians were struck and vehicles on the Upper East Side Saturday, with one of those pedestrians killed.

Police say a 23-year-old man was hit by a 1993 Blue Honda sedan near East 63rd Street and the FDR Drive. The victim was found in the center lane of the northbound FDR around 1:10 a.m. The victim suffered severe trauma to his body, according to police.

Authorities said the driver remained at the scene and no criminality is suspected at this time.

The unidentified victim was taken by EMS to Metropolitan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Later Saturday morning, a 40-year-old man was struck by a vehicle around 3:00 a.m. on 1st Avenue near 86th Street.

Police say the victim suffered head trauma and was taken to Cornell Hospital. His condition is not known at this time.
