Arizonans got down and dirty at Tough Mudder

Posted: Updated:

Hundreds of people got down and dirty in Mesa on Saturday.

It was all part of the Tough Mudder competition, considered by many as one of the toughest obstacle courses out there.

The course is 10 to 12 miles and sends participants over walls, under muddy fences and into pools of liquid.

But going through the grit and grime isn't just for fun, it's for a good cause.

Tough Mudder encourages participants to donate to the Wounded Warrior Project by giving participants a refund of $25 if they raise $150 or more for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Events across the country have already raised $5 million to date.

FOX 10's Gayle Jansen tests out her toughness at the competition.
