Researchers: Women talk more

Posted: Updated:

A group of researchers in Maryland say women do talk more, and it's all due a protein in their brain.

According to The Telegraph, researchers from the University of Maryland identified the Foxp2 protein as the reason, and it is found more in women than it is in males. But it was found to be higher in rats they were males.

The researches used rats to conduct their research and say, "our results implicate Foxp2 as a component of the neurobiological basis of sex differences in vocal communication in mammals."

You can read more about the research here.
