NEWARK, Del. -
A rifle, nearly $3,000 in cash and 1,200 grams of marijuana were seized from a New Castle County home after police say they discovered a marijuana grow operation.
Police say numerous tips led them to a home on the unit block of Gill Drive Friday in Newark.
After obtaining a search warrant, police say they entered the home, where they smelled a marijuana odor and eventually discovered a grow operation in the basement.
According to police, seeding mats, logs and calendars and a ventilation system were all discovered as part of the suspected grow operation.
Marijuana found in the home's kitchen was also removed, along with packaging materials, a .22 caliber rifle and $2,933 of suspected drug money, police said.
New Castle County Police say Jerry Carletti and his girlfriend, Abbie Deardorff, were arrested and face possession and intent to deliver marijuana charges, among others. Police say the two were both occupants of the home.
