MESA, Ariz. -

A Mesa police officer driving a motorcycle was hit by a sport utility vehicle near Country Club Drive and Broadway Road on Saturday night.

Police say a 21-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer was turning from a private driveway and hit the officer.

The officer was taken to a hospital and was treated for some broken bones. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Police say impairment wasn't a factor in the collision, it appears the driver didn't look before entering the road.

The driver was cited for the accident.  His name was not released.
