NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

The 9-year-old boy who nearly died after being thrown from his Bronx apartment building's roof, has awaken from a coma and is speaking with police investigating the teen accused of committing the crime.

Detectives are hoping to get more detailed information from victim Freddy Martin about how 17-year-old Casmine Aska allegedly threw him from the top of 1545 Nelson Avenue in the Morris Heights section on February 1st.

The boy fell five stories to the ground, suffering a broken arm and leg, as well as internal bleeding.

On his way to New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Martin briefly regained consciousness and told police that Aska, who lives above him, had shown up at his third-floor apartment and dragged him to the roof.

Aska was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault and other charges. He is being held without bail.
