DETROIT (WJBK) -

Still wearing all black from Friday's "The Nine", I wandered into the Motor City Golf and Travel Show at Cobo where Ernest Sports out of Georgia was showing off a Doppler radar shot tracker with matching iPad app.

"The device flashes the ball speed and then gives you the carry distance," a representative told me.

Just a chip shot away, we found a cart designed to allowed disabled veterans to play an entire round.

"With the Americans with Disabilities Act, it weighs less than the equipment they maintain the greens with, so they can actually drive onto the green to even putt," I was told.

A harness allows the golfer to lean forward like an upright golfer addressing the ball.

We checked out some fashions before bumping into Michigan football voice Frank Beckmann, who was showing off his ten handicap using maize-colored balls, and former Fox 2 sports guy Mark "The Man" Wilson, who admitted to "grand larceny".

"You can tell anybody you want this.  I have easy six Fox 2 mic flags that I took when I left," he said.

Our tour concluded with putting to win a two year car lease.  My putt missed the hole to the left.  It looks so much easier on "The Price is Right".

Right now the baseball diamond at the old Tiger Stadium is being used by little leaguers and even some vintage baseball teams. But that could change, even before this season is over.

This is the kind of place film director Quentin Tarantino might have worked had he grown up in metro Detroit.  He did visit the Thomas Video and DVD store in Royal Oak once.
