ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -
Two people were killed, one person was injured and the driver was arrested after a car crashed into a parked pickup truck near Lake Phalen in St. Paul.
The crash happened around 2:24 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Prosperity Avenue and Hazelwood Avenue.
Police said the two backseat passengers were killed on impact. They were identified as 28-year-old Chue Vue and 29-year-old Tou Vue, both of St. Paul.
The third passenger, 30-year-old Chee Yang of St. Paul, was taken to Regions Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No one was inside the pickup, which police said was parked legally on Hazelwood Avenue.
Police are investigating whether the driver, 21-year-old Teng Vang of St. Paul, was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash.
