MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Several events are set to take place in Minneapolis as activists ready to raise awareness about violence against women and rape culture across the globe through the One Billion Rising initiative.
The organization, which estimates one in three women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime, has hundreds of global partners -- including many in Minnesota.
The group urged one billion women and men to rise up on Feb. 14 in a global strike, an invitation to dance, and demonstration of solidarity in protest of the global problem of rape and violence against women.
