RAMSEY, Minn. (KMSP) -

A suspected murder-suicide is being investigated in Ramsey, Minn., after an email led police to a home on 176th Lane NE late Tuesday night.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, a relative of the couple called Ramsey police to request a welfare check after receiving "an email with suicidal overtures."

Officers found the home secured and saw no new foot tracks in the snow or vehicle tracks in the driveway.

Officers found the bodies of 67-year-old Caron Margaret Fine and 65-year-old Mitchell Wolfe Fine in a bedroom with gunshot wounds to their heads. Indications at the scene suggest the woman was shot before the man.

Several pet cats were also found dead of gunshot wounds.

Anoka County officials say the couple had been served with an eviction notice on Monday.
