Inmate serving life sentence found dead in cell - KMSP-TV

A 52-year-old female inmate serving a life sentence for first degree murder was found dead Tuesday.

Christina Black died of an apparent suicide in the Arizona State Prison at Perryville, according to officials from the Arizona Department of Corrections.

Medical responders attempted life-saving measures but she could not be revived.

Black was sentenced out of Pinal County and was imprisoned in 1999. Officials did not release any further information Tuesday night.

Arizona Department of Corrections officials say the death was an apparent suicide.
