Officials have reopened several highways that were closed as a winter storm swept across west central Minnesota on Sunday, including Interstate 94 between Moorhead and Alexandria.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation reopened the following roads to traffic at 2 p.m. on Monday:

  • Interstate 94 from Moorhead to Alexandria
  • Highway 10 from Moorhead to Audubon
  • Highway 210 from Breckenridge to Fergus Falls

MnDOT officials also lifted a no travel advisory in the area, but stress that current driving conditions remain difficult due to blowing and drifting snow.

There are still several icy patches on the road, and drivers are urged to use extreme caution and be patient with snow plow operators working to clear the roadway.

Commuters can call 511 or visit www.511mn.org for information on current driving conditions.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported 326 crashes statewide during the storm, with 42 involving injuries.

Troopers also responded to two jack-knifed semi-trailers, and officials assisted more than 400 that slid off the road.
