Investigation into deadly Harlem fire

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A 30-year-old man died following a fire inside an apartment in Harlem on Monday. An investigation into his death is underway.

Cops say they responded to a 911 call about a fire at the Taft Houses at 1385 5th Ave. at about 4 a.m. on Monday.

While battling the flames, firefighters discovered the victim in cardiac arrest inside apt. 2E, said officials.

He was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The man's identity has not been made public pending family notification.

There were no reports of other injuries.
