A man wanted in connection with the November murder of a Chicago man in Wisconsin was captured Saturday, police said.
Officers and U.S. Marshals arrested Tevon I. Marley about 1:30 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 1900 block of Elmwood Avenue, according to a release from Beloit police.
Marley, 29, tried hiding in the attic of the home of an acquaintance but officers talked him down and he was taken into custody, the release said.
Police issued a first-degree intentional homicide warrant for Marley in November for the shooting death of Ricky Sims, Jr., of Chicago.
About 11:22 a.m. on Nov. 4, 2012, police responded to a report of a shooting in the 700 block of Merrill Street in Beloit, Wis., and found a man shot multiple times in a nearby yard, the release said.
Sims Jr., 19, was taken to Beloit Hospital, where he died during surgery, the release said.
Marley and Sims were in two separate vehicles before the shooting and had no connection to the location where the shooting occurred, police said at the time.
Marley will be held in Rock County Jail in Janesville, Wis. until his court date.
