BOSTON ( — Gov. Deval Patrick has lifted the statewide driving ban put into effect before the snowstorm, but people are urged to stay off the roads if they can.

The driving ban ended at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Patrick said there's still a lot of snow to clear from secondary roads, and ongoing power restoration. He's asking people "to use common sense."

The MBTA said service would be suspended through Sunday because roads and surface tracks must be cleared, and a power outage is affecting its communication center in Quincy. Efforts are focused on getting things ready for Monday morning's commute.

Logan Airport officials say one runway will be reopened at 11 p.m. Saturday. Operations had to shut down overnight because of whiteout conditions and about 2 feet of snow. Travelers should contact their airlines to check on flights for Sunday.
