Thursday weather looks spectacular with mostly sunny skies and low humidity levels. A light jacket may be needed early in the day with lows in the 50s, but under sunny skies temperatures climb into the low 80s.  Along the coast highs top out in the mid 70s.  Winds will be out of the WSW 5-10 mph.  High 83. Low 58.

PHILADELPHIA -

We continue to keep tabs on the radar, and there's a lot of the moisture moving toward New England right now. That's where up to 2 feet of snow is expected places like Boston and Hartford.

For us, we're on the fringes of this particular system. We're tracking some of this energy that is now transferring into the area of low pressure just off East Coast.

After a good amount of rain in the morning, then a lot of it down the shore for much of the day, things were relatively dry across much of the Delaware Valley at dinnertime on Friday.

However, some light snow was moving west-to-east as things started to cool down, and the radar began filling in.

That will continue throughout the overnight timeframe, and there will be some bands of heavier snow.

The Lehigh Valley and also the Poconos is where we anticipate the bulk of the accumulating snow will fall.

There will be lesser in the way of snowfall totals once you move south and west of Philadelphia. There will be a sharp cut off with the precipitation as it continues to pull away.

The National Weather Service has shifted its Winter Weather Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories a little to the north and east.

Extreme South Jersey and sections of Delaware should see a coating to an inch.

Philadelphia will straddle the dividing line between where 1 to 3 inches and 3 to 6 inches of snow will fall.

In the Allentown area and in upper Bucks County, snow totals will be on the low end of the 6 to 10 forecast for there. The Poconos will be on the higher end of that scale.

The blockbuster snow totals will be from Hartford to Boston, where they'll get 18 to 24 inches.

Also be mindful of the Coastal Flood Warning. Friday night's high tide has passed, when minor to moderate flooding was expected. There could also be some beach erosion throughout Saturday with Saturday morning's high tide being the one that will we really have to watch.

For tonight, expect a low of 28 degrees in Philadelphia.

Flurries will linger Saturday morning. Then, conditions turn blustery and colder, with feels-like temperatures will be in the teens, although the sun does return this weekend.

As we move into early next week, we start to warm up. We could even be at 50 degrees by Monday.
