MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Fire damaged two homes in north Minneapolis overnight, as flames from a vacant home spread to a neighboring home.
A passerby saw the vacant home on fire at 38th and Dupont Avenue N. around 1 a.m. Wednesday and called 911. When firefighters arrived, the home was already engulfed in flames, with fire spreading to a nearby home.
Firefighters rescued two people and a dog from the second home. The family is being assisted by the Red Cross.
Firefighters said the first home is a total loss, and the second home suffered damage to the second floor and attic.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
