Jodi Arias trial attracts watchers from across the nation

Posted: Updated:

The Jodi Arias is making national headlines and causing a media circus. Here in the valley, people are lining up outside the courtroom each morning to watch this trial in person.

They wait for hours to get into the trial. Numbers are handed out for morning and afternoon. Some of them even skip lunch and bathroom breaks so they don't lose their spot or their chance to get in.

Ruth Hooper is from Winterhaven, Florida. It's not the first time Ruth Hooper has sat in on a trial.

"I sat in on the Ted Bundy trial."

They call themselves court watchers, and they're here from across the country.

Brenda Crow Beegle is a court watcher.

"Oh I've traveled I've gone to Cincinnati, I've gone to Mansfield, Ohio, I've gone to Columbus, Ohio, I've come to Phoenix," says Beegle.

It's hard to miss the satellite trucks parked outside. In Session is streaming every moment of the trial live.

Carolyn Reynolds is a psychic and an author. She told us she hasn't seen any visions so far while sitting in the courtroom.

Reynolds is an author is writing a book about women who kill.

"I think [the death penalty] a real strong possibility. I tried to talk to her mother and get a birth time because where the sun fell on the chart I would be able to tell, but she said she couldn't remember," says Reynolds.

All of them have strong feels about Jodi.

"She's very remorseless, unemotional, detached, quite lethal," says Reynolds.

"Oh I think she's evil. I do," says Hooper.

There are only two rows set aside in the courtroom for court watchers. Family and friends of Arias and Travis Alexander fill up the majority of the courtroom, along with media.
