"It's over," Victor Andres Cabrera whispered into the phone, as doctors pronounced his 13-year-old son dead.
He is one of the many critical injuries taken to hospitals Sunday night as the bus he was riding on crashed on Highway 38.
While he is making plans to return the body to their Tijuana home, Maria Salazar is saying prayers of thanks. Her daughter Diana was on the bus on what was supposed to be a fun sky trip with friends. Diana, in her 20's, was sitting on the left side of the bus when it crashed. She sustained injuries, her mom said.
Diana said there was definitely trouble on the bus before the crash with the brakes -- and that people were screaming at the bus driver.
