Motorists in Cape May County will soon be able to travel the Garden State Parkway without a single red light.
Officials from the New Jersey Turnpike Authority broke ground Monday on a $110 million project that will remove the parkway's only three traffic lights.
The project will also build bridges to carry the parkway over local streets at interchanges 9, 10 and 11.
Officials say they hope this project will reduce congestion along that particular stretch of the parkway and improve traffic safety in the area.
