Multiple Overnight Shootings Under Investigation

Philadelphia police say one man died and two men were critically injured in a streak of shootings overnight.

Police are investigating the homicide of a man that was found unconscious on the 5900 block of N. Opal Street. The man had been shot in the chest and was transported to Einstein Medical Center. He was pronounced dead around 1:30 a.m., and has not been identified.

Earlier in the morning, police responded to a shooting on the 6500 block of Dicks Ave. The 35-year-old man was transported to HUP with four gunshot wounds. He remains in critical condition.

Last night around 10 p.m. an unidentified man, was shot in his left side near 61st Street and Columbia Ave. He was transported to HUP and remains in critical condition after surgery. According to police, the victim said he was standing outside of his car with a friend when four men approached him and said, "Give up the car." The men took his vehicle and fled the scene after shooting him.

No arrests have been made in any of the three shootings.
