GILBERT, Ariz. -
Gilbert High School students will test the dangers of texting and driving on Friday.
AT&T is bringing their texting and driving virtual reality simulator to the high school for students to experience first-hand what can happen when you are distracted while driving.
The simulator is part of AT&T's "It Can Wait" campaign, which educates people on the dangers of texting and driving and urges drivers to pledge to never text and drive.
More than 100,000 times each year, an automobile crashes leaving people injured or dead as a result of a driver texting and driving, according to the National Safety Council.
FOX 10's Kristy Siefkin reports.
