Carousel Checks is a privately held company that does not believe in red tape and smashes all roadblocks instantly. This position is an addition to the 8 person IT team of PHP programmers, graphic designers and systems admin that
currently exists.
Spend your days working on a multitude of vastly different projects to support our e-commerce platforms and in-house manufacturing
and billing platform. No 2 days will ever be the same. All programming is performed on company owned and operated sites and
applications. The IT group controls the code, hardware, network and all aspects of computer systems for the company.
The ideal candidate would be innovative and have experience developing for object oriented websites using Linux, Apache, PHP and MySQL.
This position will develop logic, code, test and deploy several web projects with minimal assistance. They will need to know how to modify
and build on existing PHP applications.
Salary/Rate is competitive and based on experience. This is an in house position ONLY.
Responsibilities:
Use PHP, MySQL, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery technologies for development and maintenance.
Manage versioning, provide estimates for work effort and time-lines, and document systems and processes to accepted standards.
Participates in code reviews as needed and as assigned by their respective project team leads
Provides input into project technology issues and direction to their respective project team leads as appropriate
This position requires successful independent collaboration with others both internally and externally
Develop high-quality Web software in a collaborative environment with a team of talented designers and developers
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or commensurate work experience
3+ Years in web development using PHP
Strong understanding of OOP and Design Patterns
Develop / maintain applications and Web Services using LAMP
Experience working with ecommerce sites is a big plus
Excellent communication, team-work and problem solving skills
Demonstrated excellent analytical, decision-making skills and willingness to take on big challenges and solve complex problems
Expert knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript/AJAX.
Advanced knowledge of Linux, Apache, MySQL, SVN and MVC frameworks such as CakePHP or Zend.
Advanced knowledge of frameworks like JQuery or Prototype.
Proficient in Web services / SOAP / XML
