ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -
There will be no River's Edge Music Festival in St. Paul in 2013. Live Nation pulled the plug on the event this year, but there's hope for a return in 2014.
Organizers of the River's Edge Music Festival posted the following message on its website: "Live Nation has made the decision to not produce the River's Edge Music Festival in Saint Paul, MN for 2013. While River's Edge Music Festival will not take place in 2013, we are hopeful that the event will once again take place in 2014."
St. Paul Parks and Recreation said the future of River's Edge had been in discussion for quite some time. Despite drawing thousands of concertgoers to St. Paul's Harriet Island, Live Nation hoped it would create more of a "region draw."
Based on the weekend St. Paul Parks and Recreation was holding for the event, Live Nation decided their goals couldn't be accomplished.
