Schizophrenia effects 2.2 million Americans with a disorder that makes people paranoid, gives them halucinations and also makes them hear voices that aren't really there. Unfortunately the prognosis for leading a normal productive life has been poor. A new New York Times best seller called "The Center Cannot Hold: My Journey Through Madness" is written by an author who is a Schizophrenic and a successful attorney and professor.
