Worker dies after fall at Queens construction site

NEW YORK (AP) -

A worker was killed when he fell through the floor and hit his head at a construction site in Queens.

The 42-year-old man fell 15 feet to the basement of the apartment building under construction on Broadway near 45th Street Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

The man was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital where he died. His name was not immediately released.

The Department of Buildings has halted work at the construction site, The Daily News reported.
