HAMTRAMCK, Mich. (WJBK) -- "They were definitely very dangerous.  I mean, we needed to get these guys in custody," says Hamtramck Police Chief Maxwell Garbarino.

A high speed chase ripped through the streets of Hamtramck.  Police were hot on the tail of a crew accused of dangerous behavior.

"We believe are responsible for upwards of maybe nine or ten armed robberies in our city.  Very significant arrests," Garbarino says.

"During the pursuit, they did actually ram one of our vehicles and the pursuit continued from there ultimately with them crashing.  Thankfully nobody was hurt."

"They fled from our officers," Garbarino adds.  "They were apprehended quickly after."

Three suspects were arrested.  Police say they were in a stolen car involved in a carjacking in Detroit.

Hamtramck's police chief says this crew has people in his city scared and now they can rest a little easier.

"It's a big break for us.  We had a little spree with this crew we were actively pursuing, and it's going to close a lot of a recent cases for us."

The three suspects are scheduled to be arraigned as early as Friday.
