The frigid temperatures this week will give way to snow in our area Friday.
On Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather advisory for Philadelphia, Delaware and several other counties around our area.
The advisory goes into effect Friday at 4 p.m. and runs though 1 a.m. Saturday.
Accumulations of 1-3 inches of snow are expected along with temperatures in the low 20s, the National Weather Service said.
The rest of the holiday weekend continues to look warmer and unsettled. Shower and thunderstorm chances increase late Sunday and Labor Day.
The heat and humidity will continue to expand Sunday into Labor Day. There is a risk of scattered showers and thunderstorms both day. Best chance will be in the afternoon and evening.
