Glendale -

Fireworks tonight at Glendale City Hall as the City Council Votes 3-2 to direct City Attorney to draw up ordinance to ban gun shows at city owned facilities, doing away with the last gun show in all of LA County.

The decision does NOT affect the March gun show at the Civic Auditorium. A similar motion was denied in 2006.

Dozens of gun owners tried to stop this from going into the agenda, but Councilman Ravi Manoukian -- who suggested the ban -- said that although they made a "compelling" point, he wasn't convinced and put it on the agenda for discussion.

Manoukian has said he was affected by the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.

Gun supporters counter that the legal event not only brings revenue for the city, but also gives law enforcement the kind of location to see who the buyers are, who is trying anything illegal -- the kind of information they can use to go after "the bad guys."

With yet another shooting in the headlines today, this should be interesting.
