Police make arrest in Ga. Dome stabbing

Posted: Updated:

Police have made an arrest in a stabbing outside the Georgia Dome following the Falcons playoff loss on Sunday.

According to a press release from Georgia Dome spokesman Jason Kirksey, Georgia World Congress Center police arrested James Lewis McCoy, 46, on Tuesday afternoon.

McCoy is accused of stabbing a 35-year-old man in the Silver Parking Lot outside the Georgia Dome on Sunday night.

Kirksey said authorities believe the argument began over food at a tailgate and not between fans of opposing teams.

The stabbing victim is in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.
