WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJBK) -- Nearly a million people witnessed the swearing in of President Barack Obama for his second term. Among them was Fox 2's Alexis Wiley.
"We had great seats. We were very, very close to the point we saw the president. We saw some of the different people who were up at the podium," she told Fox 2's Huel Perkins. "Beyonce was amazing. Kelly Clarkston was great. It was a great experience."
"It just felt like I was witnessing something that was amazing for our country regardless of where you stood politically," she added. It was just a beautiful ceremony, a beautiful symbol of really who we are as people."
Is this inauguration as emotional as President Obama's first in 2009?
"I don't think it was as emotional," Wiley said. "I was... there four years ago. I didn't go to the swearing in. There's still excitement, but I think there was more of that energy four years ago. Of course, we as a country have had to deal with a lot over the past few years, so I think there wasn't as much of that raw emotion, but there was still a lot of happiness."
