Pastor's Property Vandalized

Posted: Updated:
CAMDEN, N.J. -

It's becoming an unfortunate daily ritual for Pastor David King, shaking up a can of fix-a-flat and shaking his head after vandals flattened his car tires.

"It's real upsetting," he says after being hit twice in two days.

"It's like getting slapped and you cant do nothing about it. You can't hit back."

King's early-model Mercedes, his wife's minivan and his neighbor's SUV suffered paper-cut-sized slashes while parked on Saunders.

All four of King's neighbor's tires were cut in the past two days. She spent $1,300 at Firestone replacing them.

"You can't expect to spend $1,300 and think its going to be OK," she exclaimed. "It's a hit! It's a hit! I'm a homeowner and single mom, it's a hit!

Pastor King's been hit hard in the past eight-months.

FOX 29 was there in June when his Community Baptist Church was vandalized.

Only the hooks remained after copper thieves ripped off the gutters.

He also says crooks broke through stained-glass windows to burglarize the church.

If these tire slashings continue they could hinder parishioners from attending the church that's done some good work for the troubled Camden community.

"I'll pick up four people and in the morning my wife picks up three people. We don't have a church van," he said.
