Woman charged after donkeys found near death

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

An Atlanta woman faces two counts of animal cruelty after her two donkeys were found near death.

DeKalb Animal Control says a tip led them to the Clarkston property where they found two donkeys within a fenced area.

They say both were extremely emaciated and one appeared dead.

Veterinarians have nursed them back to health, but a lot more care is needed.

The Georgia Equine Rescue is now caring for the donkeys.
