DETROIT (WJBK) -- Chrysler's main unveil came from its Jeep brand as the 2014 Compass, Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee SRT were introduced. Jeep solidifying its brand as the number one SUV in America.
"In 2012 despite a relatively quiet year from a product introduction perspective, Jeep set a new, all-time sales record beating our old 1999 record of 675,000 vehicles by selling over 700,000," said Mike Manley, president and CEO of the Jeep Brand.
Now Jeep sets its sights on selling over 800,000 globally by 2014.
The 2014 Compass and Patriot will feature refined styling similar to the Grand Cherokee and a new powertrain, which enables up to 30 miles per gallon.
The SRT has a new color interior and distinctive black headlights on the exterior.
Perhaps the biggest news regarding the new 2014 Grand Cherokee is the Eco-Diesel V6 getting up to 730 miles on a single tank.
"I've probably have received hundreds of emails and letters in the last three years asking for diesel, and so finally it's great to be able say here you go, this is the first one," Manley said.
