ATLANTA -
As the threat of winter weather looms, a flood watch remains in effect for many parts of the FOX 5 viewing area through Thursday evening.
FOX 5 Storm Team meteorologist Joanne Feldman says some spots around north Georgia have received several inches of rain and could get more than an inch more on Wednesday as another heavy band of showers moves from west to east.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for most of north Georgia. A Flood Warning is also in effect for Chattooga, Floyd and Forsyth counties.

More showers -- some heavy -- are expected Wednesday night and into Thursday. As temperatures drop, the NWS issued a Winter Storm Watch in effect from Thursday afternoon until Friday for the area north of a line from Carrollton to Atlanta to Jefferson.
Feldman says a light accumulation of snow is possible in the highest elevations of the northeast Georgia mountains. None is expected for the metro area.
Drivers should be wary of potential patches of black ice on overpasses and bridges overnight Thursday and into early Friday morning.
