Rosemount police say a Saturday night standoff in a townhome complex ended peacefully after two and half hours.
According to investigators, the standoff began in the area of Coachford Avenue and Connemara Trail after a man threatened his neighbors at about 9 p.m.
Police rushed to the scene after receiving a report that a man had claimed to have several firearms in his possession and planned to "take out his neighbors."
Officers contacted the man's neighbors and told them to stay in their homes. No evacuations were made.
After several hours, negotiators were able to talk the man out.
His identity has not been released, but police say he is under arrest on terroristic threat charges.
Officers from Apple Valley, Bloomington, Burnsville and Rosemount police departments responded, and the Dakota County SWAT team was on hand during the standoff.
