GROSSE POINTE, Mich. (WJBK) -

Three years ago, on Jan. 12, 2010, a mother from Grosse Pointe mysteriously disappeared. Her body was eventually found in Lake St. Clair, but her family still wants answers.

JoAnn Matouk Romain's silver 2008 Lexus was found in the parking lot of St. Paul Catholic Church on Lakeshore Dr. Police discovered a small set of footprints in the snow leading from her SUV to the water's edge. A few months later, the 55 year old's body was found in Lake St. Clair. Police believe the Grosse Pointe Woods mother committed suicide, her family does not.

"Prior to this happening to her she did indicate she felt she was being followed," her daughter Michelle, told Fox 2. "She had a fairly simple routine and church was definitely one of them. She did indicate if something ever happened to her definitely look into it."

The discovery of Joann's body has not brought peace to her daughter, only more questions. Michelle Romain hopes new billboards posted along eastbound I-696 and Vandyke will lead to the answers she so desperately seeks.

"We don't have any valid, 100% reason yet and that's what this investigation is for," she says. "We're hoping tips will come in."

Joann's family believes she was murdered, and they have spent the last three years trying to track down her killers. One billboard shows composite sketches of two men they believe had something to do with Joann's death.

A mother is pained beyond words.  Her three-year-old daughter was killed in a crash Sunday on Detroit's west side less than a block from her house.  The chaotic scene was visible from her front door.
