MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
It's a rollercoaster weekend for winter weather in the Twin Cities, with temperatures near 40 degrees on Friday switching to highs in the teens and single-digit lows this weekend.
Friday's warmth forced the city of Edina to postpone its Winter Neighborhood Night, which will now be held Friday, Jan. 25. Edina is among several metro cities that closed ice rinks and warming houses due to warm weather.
Frigid, raw cold will return Saturday, along with a few flurries. Weekend morning temperatures in the upper teens will plunge to subzero wind chills throughout daytime hours.
Winter storm and blizzard warnings are in effect for far northwestern Minnesota. Get the latest forecast update at http://www.myfoxtwincities.com/weather
