DULUTH, Minn. (KMSP) -
More than 70 schools in northern Minnesota were closed or delayed Friday due to freezing rain and icy road conditions.
The National Weather Service issued an ice storm warning for parts of northern Minnesota, including Beltrami, Cass and Koochiching counties. MnDOT is advising not to travel on Highways 113 and 108 near Waubun and Pelican Rapids because of icy conditions.
Freezing rain is expected to turn into snow later Friday, with up to 7 inches expected in the Northland.
