ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KMSP) -

A 21-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday after fleeing from officers in his car and crashing into a squad car during his attempt to escape.

Officials say members of the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force were conducting an undercover narcotics operation when uniformed officers with the St. Cloud Police Department tried to stop a vehicle driven by Daniel Stanger.

Police say Stanger refused to pull over in the 400 block of 33rd Avenue North and attempted several evasive moves through traffic.

According to police, Stanger made it two blocks before he abruptly smashed his vehicle into the side and front end of a marked squad at his side, pushing the squad car into the driveway of a convenience store at the intersection of 7th Street.

The pursuit ended there, as both vehicles were significantly damaged; however, police say no one was injured.

Stanger was taken into custody without any further incident.
