Join the fastest growing media web team in our industry! KMSP/WFTC, Fox Owned and Operated duopoly in Minneapolis, is seeking one (1) Web Producer. The Web producer will be responsible for all aspects of the Stations' web sites, including but not limited to the production and maintenance of news content and special sections, audio/visual production, and monitoring the site for quality control purposes.

Responsibilities: Work closely with the Web Manager and broadcast producers to manage all production/quality aspects of Stations' web sites. Conceptualize/produce high profile creative on-line material. Perform duties of on-line writer/producer, specializing in print style writing, copy editing and editorial gathering. Facilitate the editorial gathering of local web news, gleaning information from various sources and contacts and reproducing the above material into strong compelling web material. Manage video distribution and live streaming. Oversee writing and distribution of news headlines, with use of search engine (SEO) strategies. Contributes heavily to station's social media outreach. Acquire content from contributors and content providers, clear rights, and post to Web site. Applications include HTML, JSP, FLASH and Photoshop. Interface with editorial managers and supervisors from the broadcasting side of newsroom to create a cohesive working atmosphere, integrating web content into the station's on-air news product and vice-versa. Monitor the submission of user-generated content, and work with producers to facilitate the use of said content in the station's on-air news product. Responsible for monitoring/updating mobile applications.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in journalism or equivalent preferred plus 2-3 years of web production experience. Position demands excellent print/web writing, web editing, interface design and web production skills. Handle multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously in a strict deadline-oriented environment. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work under pressure as a cohesive member of a team. Highly skilled in all areas of a/v digitizing, editing and encoding techniques. Advanced knowledge of Internet publishing software and content management systems. Strong understanding of the social media universe (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.). Highly skilled in search-engine optimization (SEO) practices. Understanding of user on-line behavior. Knowledge of web production traffic reporting and ad serving systems. Solid understanding of web standards, design and usability. Knowledge of common web and application architectures. Knowledge of print and broadcast newsroom standards and styles. Experience in web site development desirable with knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver. Working knowledge of Avid NewsCutter video editor preferred.
