COON RAPIDS, Minn. (KMSP) -
The Coon Rapids Police Department has released video footage of a ring theft committed on Sunday inside the Kay Jewelry Store in the hopes that someone will recognize the culprit.
After the theft, police released a still photo of the suspect, who can be seen asking an employee to display a ring before taking it and fleeing on foot to a white, two-door Toyota Celica.
Police say the employee's finger was broken during the robbery.
The diamond ring he swiped at about 4:35 p.m. was a 1.6-carat Leo diamond and is estimated to be worth more than $15,000.
