The month of January is going to be a busy one for Minnesota fight fans. Three cards are slated with the first taking place this Saturday night at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Minneapolis.
The card is headlined by a featherweight battle for the ABO Mid-America title and will feature Ismail Muwendo (11-0) and Anthony Napunyi (14-11). Muwendo's punching prowess is well known and he has power to boot as evident by his nine knockouts. In his last fight, Muwendo dispensed of Leon Bobo in the second round.
Minneapolis welterweight Jamal James (8-0) returns to action after his victory over Corey Rodriguez in October. James will face Patrick Boozer (5-1) in yet another step up in competition.
Up and coming star Robert Brant (4-0) faces Romon Barber (3-2). Brant's last two fights have ended in spectacular first round fashion. Brant is one to watch in boxing circles.
