It's pretty normal these days when you're apartment hunting to be asked to pay an application fee. Those fees can be pretty steep, and can be at least $50 for every application.

ATLANTA -
Did you get a new iPad for Christmas? Have you thought about a case for it?
FOX 5's Doug Evans gives the yearly warning to all who will listen to put on a protective case because those who don't heed the warning will likely hear it from the folks at the iHospital in Atlanta after there has been an issue.
Becky Roberts is one of those folks. She has an iPhone 4S that now has a broken back and front. She says she was at dinner and had it on her lap. She stood up and the case-less iPhone dropped to the floor.
The "iDoctors" say if you drop your device it will almost certainly break. Getting a protective case is the best insurance to avoid damage and not just for phones. They see a lot of tablets come into the iHospital that might not have needed to if they had a case.
There are all kinds of cases for tablets and phones out there. They come in all shapes, sizes, textures, and thickness.
Three cases we checked out where the LifeProof, the OtterBox, and the Speck case.
The LifeProof runs about $80, but claims to have the ultimate protection. On the more economical end of the spectrum, the OtterBox offers a slimmer case with its Commuter series coming in at the lower price of $35. The Speck Candy Shell Grip from Speck is roughly the same price.
By the way, the folks at the iHospital were able to replace Becky's screen on her iPhone 4S.
